Proposed control design for hot surface igniter used in outdoor burner

For outdoor burner, because environment temperature varies, we provide the below suggestions to ensure steady ignition and long service life.

 

1. As the fall of environment temperature, the igniter temperature will be fall as well due to energy loss increase in itself. At the same time, cold air entering into gas or oil brings the igniter temperature further down.

The lower environment temperature is, the more obvious decrease of igniter temperature. Thus, under different environment temperature, different power supply scheme should be adopted, to compensate the energy reduced by cold temperature and ensure steady ignition.

 

2. In the same way, please decrease the supply of power or voltage to igniter when in shutdown purge and heat engine start. This can ensure a moderate igniter temperature in a high temperature combustor. So the service life of igniter cannot be affected.
